Hexagon World Series Unveiled as First Global Team Padel Circuit

London was selected as the launch venue for the announcement of the Hexagon World Series, a new global team-based padel circuit that represents a significant evolution of the Hexagon Cup concept.

The initiative is backed by 54, the sport and entertainment agency behind LIV Golf, in partnership with the International Padel Federation (FIP), the sport’s global governing body.

Described by organisers as an “historic strategic alliance”, the agreement sees 54 invest in and partner with the Hexagon Cup to scale the project into a fully fledged international circuit. The Hexagon World Series will become the first team padel series officially governed by FIP, fully integrated into the federative padel pyramid.

Under the new structure, the Hexagon World Series will expand beyond its original format, introducing multiple events per year across new international markets. The organisers believe the expansion will unlock new commercial opportunities for fans, players and partners, while reinforcing the wider FIP ecosystem and supporting padel’s long-term Olympic ambitions alongside existing tours.

Importantly, the new circuit is positioned as complementary rather than competitive to Premier Padel, FIP’s flagship professional tour for individual pairs. Together, Premier Padel and the Hexagon World Series will form a dual-track global professional circuit: one centred on elite pairs competition, and the other on a pioneering team-based format, both operating under FIP governance.

Enrique Buenaventura, Founder of the Hexagon Cup, said the partnership marked “a new chapter in the history of padel”, highlighting the ambition to create the sport’s first truly global team circuit. He added that collaboration with 54, FIP and Premier Padel would help accelerate international growth, unlock new commercial value and contribute meaningfully to padel’s Olympic journey.

FIP President Luigi Carraro said the inclusion of the Hexagon World Series within FIP’s official international calendar further strengthens and stabilises the sport’s competitive ecosystem. He noted that, alongside the Cupra FIP Tour and Premier Padel, the new circuit would enhance professionalism, global visibility and long-term structural cohesion across the sport.

Gary Davidson, Group Chief Operating Officer at 54, pointed to padel’s rapid global growth as a key driver behind the investment. He said the Hexagon World Series aligns with 54’s strategy of developing high-impact sporting properties through modern commercial models, integrated governance and fan-centric experiences, while delivering strong returns for partners and investors.

Comment:
The launch of the Hexagon World Series represents a notable shift in padel’s commercial and competitive landscape. By aligning a team-based product with FIP governance and existing elite tours, the project avoids fragmentation while introducing a fresh, entertainment-driven format. If executed successfully, it could broaden padel’s appeal, attract new audiences and sponsors, and further professionalise a sport already experiencing explosive global growth.

Further details on host cities and event dates are expected in the new year.
