London to host inaugural Clash of the Coaches event for padel professionals

Event takes place at Racketeer on 7 August. More than 40 coaches from the UK and Europe expected to participate

London will host the first Clash of the Coaches, a new event created exclusively for padel coaches, on Friday 7 August at Racketeer.

Organised by World Padel Network, the tournament is designed to bring together coaches from across the UK and Europe in a mixed-team competition while providing opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.

The event, which begins at 12pm BST, is being delivered in partnership with Nico Benitez (NicoPadel22), co-owner of Fast4Padel. More than 40 coaches are expected to take part in the inaugural edition.

Unlike traditional tournaments, Clash of the Coaches focuses specifically on the coaching community, recognising the role coaches play in developing players and supporting the continued growth of padel. Alongside the on-court competition, the event aims to encourage collaboration and strengthen connections between coaches from different clubs, regions and countries.

The London debut has been scheduled to coincide with one of the busiest weeks in the UK padel calendar, enabling visiting coaches and industry professionals to take part while already in the country.

Jamie Rowe, founder of World Padel Network, said the concept emerged following discussions with coaches during the Padel World Summit in Barcelona earlier this year.

"Speaking with coaches in Barcelona, it became clear there were very few opportunities for them to come together as participants rather than as instructors. We wanted to create an event that recognises the contribution coaches make to the sport while giving them an opportunity to compete and connect with their peers."

Co-organiser Nico Benitez said coaches remain central to the sport's continued expansion.

"For most players, a coach provides their first introduction to padel and continues to shape their experience of the game. This event is intended to bring the coaching community together in an inclusive format where participation and networking are just as important as the competition."

Clash of the Coaches is expected to become an annual fixture, with future editions planned as the coaching community continues to grow alongside the sport.
