Victor Bergonzoli: WHY WASN’T I THE MOST TIRED PLAYER ON COURT? Last weekend I played a tennis match that lasted nearly 3 hours against an opponent 30 years younger than me.

When the match ended, I was obviously tired, but not nearly as tired as I expected to be after that much time on court.

It made me reflect on something that often gets overlooked: performance is not just about training. It is also about recovery, nutrition, hydration, and giving your body the tools it needs to perform consistently.

Fernando Segal: We celebrate tennis. We celebrate INTENNSE.

Why? Because it introduces innovation, speed, strategy, team competition, and a new fan experience.

Also, we celebrate it because it creates an opportunity to expand the impact of tennis on people, families, communities, and society.

It’s here: Inside DUPR Pickleball, the official podcast of DUPR,

Mike Barrell: Public Micro Losses.
A lot can be said about the genius of e‑games. They’ve quietly removed some of the sting that comes with losing.

The monster gets you, your last life burns away, and the screen fades. Then—restart. No shame, no audience, no emotional bruise.

The High-Value Insight: Traditional tennis clubs are not failing because people have stopped loving the game.

In fact, participation in tennis, pickleball, and padel continues to grow globally.

The problem is economic.

Many clubs are still occupying prime real estate as if it were still 1985.

To survive the next generation, clubs will likely need to become:

  • Denser

  • Smarter

  • More diversified

  • More technologically integrated

  • More community-driven

The clubs that survive the land crisis will probably not be the ones that fought developers.

They may be the ones developers chose to build around.

Milena Vidos: What a fantastic few days in Paris delivering sessions for the ATP-WTA Pro Course.

It was inspiring to work with such an engaged and talented group of players as they transition into coaching.

West Shaw: Our name is RacketPro. Our sport uses a paddle. Make it make sense…

In the beginning, we thought we needed to build something for all racket sports — fitting in with the other platforms, checking the same boxes they check.

In the beginning, we thought we needed to build something for all racket sports — fitting in with the other platforms, checking the same boxes they check.
We were wrong.

Public Booking now supports Access Control, allowing players to unlock your racquet facility’s door directly from their confirmation page, no PIN code needed.

==> Stop Sending Players to Your Racquet Club’s Website

The way new players find and book racquet sports clubs has changed. Most clubs are still competing the way they always did: on facilities, branding, and marketing budgets.

==> 7 Best Practices for Running a Successful Public Racquet Sports Facility

At a public racquet and paddle facility, you’re competing for every player. Walk-ins, program registrants, court renters. None of them are guaranteed to come back. What keeps them is almost always traceable to a handful of decisions: who your programming is built for, how your pricing is set, and whether your operations can actually hold up under growing demand.

==> 12 Free Racquet Club Tools: Revenue Calculators, Pricing Planners & Growth Projectors

Court revenue, membership pricing, staffing costs, break-even math — these are the decisions that power your racquet and paddle club. If you’re working through them on gut feel or in a spreadsheet you built yourself and half-trust, you’re not alone. That’s just the reality of running a facility where the operational to-do list never gets shorter.

CourtReserve built 12 free calculators and planners to give you something more reliable to work from. Every tool is grounded in real data from 2,200+ active tennis, pickleball, and padel facilities across three areas: Revenue & Pricing, Operations & Planning, and Growth & Launch.

Dr. Gary Cahill: The Italian Tennis Renaissance.
There was a lot of positive feedback from yesterday’s post and messages. A number of people asked what practical changes could help players during the transition from junior to professional tennis.

A few key points stood out and this is a useful info graph (thanks to whoever designed it)

Thomas Anerson: Penn State paid its tennis program $10,000 last year. Its football program received $13.3 million. Same athletic department. Same year.
I've been sitting with that number all weekend.
